Richard Herzog, M.D., FACR has extensive work experience in the field of radiology and imaging. Richard began their career in 1988 at Penn Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Health System, where they served as the Section Chief of Teleradiology and held various teaching positions in radiology and orthopaedic surgery. In 2000, they joined the Hospital for Special Surgery as the Chief of the Division of Teleradiology and Director of Spinal Imaging. At the same time, they also became a Professor of Radiology at Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University. In 2017, Dr. Herzog took on the role of Chief Medical Officer at Covera Health, where they lead efforts to improve patient care through advanced data analytics in radiology. Additionally, they have served as an Associate Editorial Board member for Spine journal since 1993.

Richard Herzog, M.D., FACR has an extensive education history. Richard completed their Bachelor of Science degree in 1967 at the University of Michigan. Following their undergraduate studies, they attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where they obtained their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree in 1971. Richard then pursued an internship at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1972. Richard subsequently joined the University of California, San Francisco - School of Medicine for their residency, fellowship, and instructorship, which they completed in 1976.
