Ryan McKenna, PhD has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the healthcare industry and academia. Ryan is currently working at Covera Health as a Senior Data Scientist II - Causal Inference, where they lead client-facing discussions, develops statistical tools, evaluates product ROI, mentors junior researchers, and conducts research on cutting-edge causal inference methodologies. Prior to this, they worked at IBM as a Senior Researcher, overseeing and leading health economics outcomes research studies using real-world evidence. Ryan also has experience at Independence Blue Cross as a Senior Research Scientist, where they served as a consultant, analyzed large datasets, and presented results to senior leadership. In academia, they served as an Assistant Professor at Drexel University Dornsife School of Public Health, published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, obtained grant-funded research, and provided leadership and mentorship to PhD candidates. Earlier in their career, they worked as an Instructor at Suffolk County Community College and as a Research Assistant and PhD student at Stony Brook University, where they conducted research in health economics and served as an instructor and teaching assistant for economics courses.

Ryan McKenna, PhD, pursued their education in Economics, with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. Ryan obtained their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Economics and Political Science from SUNY Geneseo in 2009. Following this, they enrolled at the University at Buffalo from 2009 to 2011, where they earned a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Economics. Ryan continued their academic journey at Stony Brook University from 2011 to 2016, obtaining a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics. In December 2020, they also received a certification in Artificial Intelligence Foundations: Machine Learning from LinkedIn.
