Barbara Rubino has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Barbara started their career in 2015 at the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, where they held several positions, including Assistant Medical Director of Adult Primary Care and Primary Care Director. In 2020, they joined Oscar Health as the Medical Director of Virtual Primary Care and later served as the Senior Medical Director of Clinical Strategy and Medical Director of Quality, Safety, and Population Health. Barbara also had a role at the California Health Care Foundation as a Leadership Fellow. Currently, they are working as the Associate Chief Medical Officer at Covered California.

Barbara Rubino completed their Bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California in 2004. In 2008, they attended the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 2012. Barbara also holds additional certifications such as the American Board of Internal Medicine, Board Certification in Addiction Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine, and is licensed as a Physician and Surgeon (Allopathic - M.D.) by the Medical Board of California.
