Axel Schmidt

Axel Schmidt is an experienced professional in the field of chemistry with a Ph.D. from TU Dortmund University. Currently serving as a Key-Account-Manager at Covestro since November 2012, Schmidt focuses on business planning and strategy for M&A projects. Prior to this role, Schmidt held the position of Head of R&D Films APAC at Bayer (South East Asia) Pte. Ltd. from February 2010 to November 2012, overseeing the development of coated films for the Asian market and fostering collaborations with universities. Additionally, Schmidt has extensive experience at Covestro (formerly Bayer MaterialScience) in various managerial roles, contributing to the development of functional films and coatings, as well as leading laboratory initiatives in the fields of coatings, adhesives, and sealants since September 2005.
