Martin Merkens has extensive experience in the chemical industry, currently serving as SVP Head of Sales & Market Development EMLA BE CA at Covestro since September 2015. In addition, Martin holds several leadership roles at Covestro, including SVP Head of Global Product Management and SVP Head of Application & Technology Development for Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties. Prior to Covestro, Martin spent nearly a decade at Bayer MaterialScience in various senior positions, including SVP Head of Application & Technology Development and VP of Product Management. Martin received education from RWTH Aachen University, completing studies from 1989 to 1998.
