Chris Hoy

Chris Hoy is a seasoned engineering professional with extensive experience in civil and structural engineering. Currently serving as the Senior Technical Director - Structures at COWI since January 2017, Chris leads the Structures Team in Glasgow and specializes in providing technical support for major national and international projects. Responsibilities include mentoring structural engineers across the UK and Hong Kong while ensuring high standards of design quality within the COWI UK Tunnels division. Prior to this role, Chris held positions at Donaldson Associates Ltd, where responsibilities included leading a team focused on renewable energy and railways projects, and had earlier experience as a Senior Engineer at Carl Bro Group. Chris earned a Ph.D. in Fibre Reinforced Concrete and holds a B.Eng (Hons) in Civil Engineering from the University of the West of Scotland.
