Jose Luis Vargas

Jose Luis Vargas has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Jose Luis most recently served as the Director of Sustainability and Cluster Strategy at the Chamber of Commerce of Bucaramanga, where they led the design and implementation of cooperation programs and projects. Prior to that, they worked as a Chair Professor at the Pontifical Bolivarian University.

Jose also has experience in strategic development and foresight, having served as a Strategic Development and Foresight Advisor at the Colombian National Police. In this role, they advised the Planning Office of the General Directorate on strategic formulation and directed the strategic program of the Police Service, resulting in an increase in the value-added ratio of the service.

Before their time at the Colombian National Police, Jose held the position of Head of Strategic, Environmental and Quality Development at the Central Supply Center of Bucaramanga - Centroabastos S.A. Jose Luis successfully articulated processes for defining organizational and financial policies and strategies and designed innovative projects for the agribusiness trade.

Earlier in their career, Jose served as the Manager at Todo Camperos Ltda. - Auto Parts Trading Company, where they implemented improvement plans and achieved high customer satisfaction. Jose Luis also worked as a Business Development Coordinator at TESINT Colombia - Oil & Gas Services, where they developed commercial strategies and secured national and international projects.

Jose's work experience also includes positions as a Chair Professor at Multitech - Institute of Technical and Technological Education and a Commercial, Operations, and Planning Manager at the Central Supply Center of Bucaramanga.

Jose Luis Vargas completed a Master's Degree in Strategic Management and Foresight at the Universidad Externado de Colombia from 2017 to 2020. Prior to that, they earned a degree in International Business Management from the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana, which they completed from 2009 to 2014. Jose also obtained a diploma in Integrated Management Systems HSEQ from ICONTEC in 2017 and an associate degree in Innovation from the Global Innovation Management Institute in 2016. Jose Luis has additional certifications as an Innovation Associate from the Global Innovation Management Institute and as an Auditor Interno HSEQ from ICONTEC International. Jose has also pursued further education in areas such as Alta Gerencia, Innovación y Emprendimiento, English Language and Literature, and Mercados Internacionales.
