Sam Chaaya

Sam Chaaya has extensive experience in research and design, with a focus on user experience (UX) and user interface (UI). Sam is currently working at Cozey as an Experience Research & Design Manager, where they are responsible for developing and implementing design assets for e-commerce websites and other customer-facing mediums. Sam also led the concept development and prototype design of the company's new e-commerce website, which resulted in improved user engagement and increased sales.

Prior to Cozey, Sam worked as a CX Design Consultant at SIA Innovations Inc., where they provided expertise in customer experience design. Sam also worked as a Researcher & Designer at Humanistic, where they developed XR interaction guidelines for a global smartphone manufacturer and conducted workshops with clients using design frameworks and methodologies.

Sam has also served as a UX UI Design Consultant at Swave Studios Inc., where they designed experiences for in-person point-of-sale systems, product packaging, and website UX/UI. Sam delivered wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes for mobile and desktop applications and utilized UX laws and principles for accessible information architecture.

Before joining Swave Studios, Sam operated their own design consulting business, Sam Chaaya Design. Sam conducted interviews with clients to determine their needs and developed successful design strategies. Sam effectively communicated with clients during brainstorming workshops and delivered projects on time with appropriate documentation.

Prior to starting their own business, Sam worked as an Apple Genius Technician at Jump Plus+ Apple Premium Reseller. Sam earned a leading customer satisfaction score by providing excellent customer service and effectively coordinating between customers, technicians, salespeople, and corporate staff. Sam also conducted thorough inspections and troubleshooting with customers.

Sam's career began as a Front End Web Designer & Developer at SIA Innovations Inc., where they prototyped and built webpages for the company website and enhanced the site experience. Sam also worked as a Print & Graphic Designer at SIA Innovations, leading the redesign of company business cards, envelopes, and digital assets.

Earlier in their career, Sam worked as a Graphic Designer at Brila, where they collaborated with managers and designers to plan layouts and create digital magazines using Adobe Creative Cloud.

From 2016 to 2020, Sam attended OCAD University and obtained a Bachelor of Design degree in Industrial Design.

Prior to that, from 2013 to 2015, Sam studied at Marianopolis College and received a Diploma of College Studies in Applied Sciences & Creative Arts.
