From 1996 to 1999, they were a Senior Software Engineer at Analogy, Inc., where they designed the “Math Services” module for an EDA simulation and modeling tool. From 1993 to 1996, they were a Mathematician at the US Naval Research Laboratory, where they collaborated on the design of the C++ classes for a real-time scheduler of a dataflow graph and applied concepts from information theory to construct a depth discriminant for shallow water wave-guides.

Douglas C. obtained their PhD in Mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in 1993, following their MA in Mathematics from The University of New Mexico in 1987.
