Dustin Scherer has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Dustin started their career in 2003 as a Production Assistant at GLS Imaging, where they primarily focused on photo retouching using Adobe Photoshop. Dustin then worked as a Developer (Advertising) at Star Furniture for a brief period in 2005.
In 2005, Scherer joined Imedia.it, Inc. as a Multimedia Developer, where they developed high-level interactivity and SCORM-based training for military learning. Dustin primarily used Flash AS2-AS3, with XML and JSON integration for the training modules. Dustin remained with Imedia.it, Inc. until 2010.
From 2010 to 2011, Scherer worked as a Courseware Developer at Logistic Services International, Inc. During this time, they developed Flash-based learning objects and interactive environments. Dustin also created tools to streamline production processes.
Following this, Scherer held the position of Senior Web Developer at Lopez Negrete Communications from 2011 to 2012, where they planned, designed, and primarily developed corporate advertising websites, landing pages, banner ads, and email blasts. Dustin also managed and maintained hosting servers and provided support to junior developers and designers.
Next, Scherer worked as a Web Development Specialist at Texas Teachers ACP from 2012 to 2013. Here, they developed database-heavy architectures and asset management portals, as well as utilized Javascript-based map APIs using ARCGIS Server 10.1.
In 2013, Scherer returned to Lopez Negrete Communications as a Senior Web Developer, continuing their responsibilities from their previous stint at the company. Dustin helped plan, design, develop, and maintain various digital projects, while also supporting junior developers and designers.
In 2015, Scherer joined WALO as a Developer, where they contributed to various software development projects. Dustin then moved on to WebPros in 2017, where they served as a UI Developer, focusing on front-end development.
Currently, Scherer is working at cPanel as a UI Developer III and recently transitioned into the role of a Product Owner II.
Dustin Scherer obtained an AAS degree in Interactive Design from The Art Institutes, from 2003 to 2005. In addition, they have earned several certifications including Certified Scrum Product Owner from Artisan Agility in July 2021, UX Certificate from Nielsen Norman Group in September 2020, and Advanced Certified Scrum Product Owner (ACSPO) from Scrum Alliance in May 2022.
