Sandra Schwartz

Sandra Schwartz has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Sandra is currently serving as the National Executive Director at the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) since September 2019. Prior to this, they worked as a Trustee - Zone 12 at the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) from December 2014 to November 2022. Sandra also held the position of Director of Parliamentary Affairs at the Office of the Minister of Natural Resources from February 2016 to July 2019. From November 2010 to January 2016, Sandra served as the VP of Public Affairs at the Canadian Electricity Association. Sandra also worked as a Policy Advisor at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition for a brief period in 2010. Additionally, Sandra has experience as the President of SLS Strategic Consulting, a Policy Advisor at the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, and the Director of Policy and Government Relations at the Canadian Wind Energy Association. Sandra started their career as a Policy Advisor at the Office of the Minister of Environment and as the Director of Toxic Substances Programme at Pollution Probe.

Sandra Schwartz holds a Master of Management degree from McGill University, which they obtained between 2000 and 2002. Sandra also has a Master of Environmental Studies degree from York University, where they studied from 1994 to 1996. Sandra received their Bachelor of Arts degree from Western University from 1989 to 1993.
