Ken Gill

Founder and CEO at CPI Security Systems

As Founder and CEO, Ken Gill created the CPI Security brand in 1991 on a foundation of making a positive impact – for employees, customers, and the community. Ken wore many different hats back then: sales representative, director of HR, and head of marketing, to name a few. But his mission to protect and help customers and their families remained the number one priority.

This mission, coupled with Ken’s spirit of innovation, remains paramount to CPI’s success as a trusted leader in home and business security.

Today, Ken remains fully engaged in day-to-day operations. He leads a team of more than 750 hardworking employees in our Charlotte headquarters and across several regional offices. He balances this hands-on approach with empowering our leadership team and encouraging access, opportunity, and equality throughout the company. The result is an engaging and unique culture dedicated to superior customer service, cutting-edge technology, and community service.

Under Ken’s guidance, CPI invests heavily in the communities we serve. The company has a long history of partnering with and championing initiatives that support our first responders and their families. In addition, CPI partners with and donates to charitable organizations who share our mission to save and improve lives, and our employees have contributed thousands of volunteer hours over the past several years.

With a charitable heart and a desire to give back, Ken is personally involved with several service-minded organizations and prioritizes supporting initiatives that improve our community’s well-being and increase opportunity and equality for youth and young adults – particularly those who are underserved and at-risk.

He is a founding board member and past Chairman of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation, was a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, and was recently the recipient of the Most Admired CEO Award.
