Benjamin Pickard

VP, Corporate Development at CPower Energy Management

Benjamin Pickard is currently the VP of Corporate Development at CPower Energy Management. Prior to this, they were the Director of National Grid Partners - Business Development from May 2017 to January 2021. In this role, they were responsible for startup-utility engagements as part of National Grid's $250M+ corporate venture capital fund. Benjamin also initiated a senior-level global utility innovation alliance. At the request of the Chief Customer Officer, they led a 5-month intensive strategic analysis on demand-side solutions for their capacity-constrained downstate NY service territory.

From January 2015 to February 2017, Benjamin was a Principal at Peak Power LLC. In this role, they were a project development, finance, and strategy consultant to investors, growth-stage companies, and policymakers in the electric utility, infrastructure and distributed energy resource space. Benjamin was also a featured writer/speaker/analyst on markets and policy tied to the utility grid of the future.

Prior to that, Benjamin was the Vice President of Energy Efficiency at Safari Energy, LLC from July 2012 to July 2014. Before that, they were the Associate Director at Clinton Foundation from September 2011 to July 2012. Benjamin's first VP role was at Senergy USA where they were also a co-founder from January 2009 to October 2011.

Benjamin Pickard graduated from Harvard University with a degree in social studies, magna cum laude. Benjamin also attended the Dalton School.
