Ken Whalen

Ken Whalen is an experienced communications and public policy professional currently serving as the Public Policy Communications Manager at CPS Energy since December 2022. Prior to this role, Whalen was a Public Affairs and Communications Consultant from March to December 2022 and worked as Communications Coordinator for Senator Judith Zaffirini from July 2021 to March 2022. A seasoned consultant, Whalen has guided clients through legislative processes with expertise honed from previous positions, including Executive Vice President of the Texas Daily Newspaper Association, Director of Legislative Affairs, and Director of Legislative Relations at the Texas Commission for the Blind. Whalen’s career began as Chief of Staff for a State Representative, overseeing various legislative initiatives and office operations. Whalen holds a BA in Journalism from Texas State University.
