Director Day Ahead & Real Time Operations at CPS Energy

Mike Hale has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Mike began their career in the US Navy as a Nuclear Electrician's Mate, where they gained experience in operating and maintaining electrical equipment on a nuclear submarine. Following their military service, Mike worked as a Reliability Electrical Technician at Commercial Metals Company, where they were responsible for maintaining and overseeing electrical equipment used in steel making processes. Mike then joined LCRA, where they held multiple roles, including Transmission System Operator, Energy Market Analyst, and Manager of Real-Time Generation. In these positions, Mike was responsible for managing the safe operation of transmission systems, optimizing generation resources, and mitigating price risk. Before joining CPS Energy as the Energy Controller, they worked at E.ON as a Generation Dispatch operator. Currently, at CPS Energy, Mike has held various roles, including Manager of Day Ahead Operations and their current position as the Director of Day Ahead & Real Time Operations.

Mike Hale obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Organizational Leadership from St. Edward's University in 2016. Mike also holds additional certifications including the PJM Generation Certification from PJM Interconnection in 2016 and the NERC Transmission Operator certification from the North American Electric Reliability Corporation in 2009.
