Sytske Besemer is a User Experience Researcher with extensive experience in academia and industry, currently working at Cradle since July 2022, where the focus is on making programming biology accessible to biologists. Prior to that, Sytske held roles at Meta, leading user experience research for Account Integrity and Workplace Integrity from February 2020 to July 2022. Previous experience includes a position as a Criminal Justice Researcher at Uber, where research informed safety policies, and significant academic work at UC Berkeley as both a Visiting Research Scholar and Post-doctoral Scholar, focusing on criminal behavior and intergenerational transmission. Sytske's educational background includes a Ph.D. in Criminology from the University of Cambridge and multiple degrees in Criminology and Developmental Psychology from Leiden University and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
