Fred Gabriel

Gabriel, a veteran in the business of digital and print journalism, rejoined Crain in December 2019 as Publisher and Executive Editor of Crain’s New York Business, after serving as Editorial Director of InvestmentNews for 18 months in 2018-2019.

Prior to that he served as Editor of InvestmentNews, a Crain brand that was sold in 2018, for six years. He started his career in journalism as a Reporter for Crain’s New York Business in the late 1990s.

Gabriel is an award-winning journalist, a strong leader and skilled in newsroom organization, analytics and content creation. He earned a BS in marine engineering from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy and lives in the New York area.
