Cory Schouten has a diverse range of work experience in the journalism field. Cory is currently working as the Editor-in-Chief at Crain's New York Business, where they focus on building and leading a digital newsroom that delivers high-value news and information to readers. Cory has also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia University and held various roles at The Wall Street Journal, including Head of New Formats and Senior Newsletter Editor. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Editor at Columbia Journalism Review and completed the Knight-Bagehot Fellowship program at Columbia Business School. Earlier in their career, they gained experience as the Managing Editor at Indianapolis Business Journal and worked as a Business Reporter at the same organization. Cory Schouten holds a Master's degree in Economics & Business Journalism from Columbia University, which they completed from 2015 to 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington, where they attended from 2000 to 2004.
