Jeremy Smerd is an accomplished journalist and real estate executive, currently serving as President of Smerd Group since September 2018, where the firm owns and manages nearly half a million square feet of commercial and industrial real estate in Pittsburgh, PA and Brooklyn, NY. Concurrently, since April 2010, Jeremy holds the position of Executive Editor at Crain's New York Business, overseeing all editorial content across print, online, and events, while also having previously served as Managing Editor, Editor, and Assistant Managing Editor, focusing on media, technology, health care, and financial news. Prior experience includes writing for Workforce Management magazine, reporting on health care and outsourcing effects, covering public transportation for The New York Sun, and assessing the hedge fund industry for Hedgefund.net.
