James Spencer

James Spencer is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as the Head of Legal at Crane Venture Partners since September 2023. In addition, James holds the position of Newton Scholar at the Newton Venture Program, which focuses on promoting diversity within the venture capital industry. Prior experience includes working as Head of Legal - Ventures at NJF Capital and as a Managing Associate in Corporate law at Mishcon de Reya LLP, where progression included roles as Associate and Legal Counsel (Secondee). James began the legal career at Pinsent Masons LLP, completing various trainee solicitor seats, including a secondment with Anheuser-Busch InBev. Academic credentials include a GDL/LPC from BPP Law School and a degree in Medieval & Modern History from the University of Birmingham.
