Nathan James

Chief Structural & Mechanical Design Engineer at Cranfield Aerospace

Nathan James has over 20 years of work experience in the aerospace industry. Nathan began their career in 2000 as a Stress Engineer at DERA. Nathan then moved to Airbus in 2001 as a Lead Stress Engineer. In 2004, they joined Boeing as a Stress Engineer. In 2009, they became a Lead Stress Engineer at GKN Aerospace. From 2010 to 2016, they worked at Assystem UK as the Head of Stress for the Bristol office, where they were responsible for the recruitment, mentoring of junior staff, and setting the training requirements for the department. Nathan also chaired technical reviews and provided technical solutions to individuals and teams. In 2016, they returned to Sitec as a Lead Stress Engineer - Wing of the Future. In 2019, they worked as an Aerospace Specialist at ALTEN LTD - UK and as a Lead Stress Engineer at Sitec. In 2020, they joined Morson Projects as a Lead Stress Engineer. Nathan currently works at Cranfield Aerospace Solutions as the Chief Structural & Mechanical Design Engineer.

Nathan James attended the University of Liverpool from 1994 to 1997, where they received a degree in Aerospace Engineering.
