Robert Marsh

Director of Engineering and Chief Engineer FRESSON at Cranfield Aerospace

Robert Marsh has had a long career in engineering management. Robert began their career in 1992 with the Royal Air Force, holding various engineering management appointments. In 2006, they moved to the Ministry of Defence's Main Building as a Strategic Business Performance Specialist. In 2008, they became a postgraduate student at the Canadian Forces College, studying the Joint Command and Staff Programme. In 2009, they became the Harrier Support Requirements Manager for the Harrier Project Team at Defence Equipment & Support. In 2010, they were appointed Commanding Officer of the Joint Force Logistics Unit with the Royal Air Force's British Forces South Atlantic Islands. In 2012, they became Head of Aircraft Availability and Air Safety at the Royal Air Force's Typhoon Force Headquarters. In 2014, they moved to Jaguar Land Rover as a Senior Programme Manager. In 2019, they joined Cranfield Aerospace Solutions as Director of Engineering and Chief Engineer FRESSON, and later became Head of Engineering.

Robert Marsh has a comprehensive education history. In 2014, they obtained a CMI Level 8 from Alliance Manchester Business School in Strategic Direction and Leadership. In 2008-2009, they obtained a Master's Degree from the Royal Military College of Canada in Master of Defence Studies. In 1999-2000, they obtained a Master's Degree from Cranfield University in Aerospace Vehicle Design. From 1995-1999, they obtained a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from Durham University in Business Administration and Management, General - by distance learning. Lastly, in 1988-1992, they obtained a Master's Degree from the University of Leeds in Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, Robert Marsh obtained certifications from various institutions, such as the Association for Project Management (APMP, 2014), the Royal Aeronautical Society (Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society (FRAeS), 2014), the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), 2013), the Engineering Council (Chartered Engineer (CEng), 1999), and the ACCA (Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance, 1998).
