Edward Garcia has a diverse work experience in various roles within the library and non-profit sectors. Edward served as a Member of the Board of Directors at the Comprehensive Community Action Program starting in 2023. Prior to that, they worked at the Cranston Public Library, where they held positions such as Library Director, Technology Coordinator, and Information Access Librarian from 2008 to the present. Garcia also served as a Campaign Advisor at EveryLibrary from 2015 to 2019. Additionally, they have held positions at the American Library Association, Reference and User Services Association, Ocean State Libraries, Library Board of Rhode Island, and Adams Memorial Library. Edward Garcia has a Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Rhode Island, which they obtained from 1987 to 2003. Edward also holds a Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS) and an Information Literacy Instruction Certificate (ILIC) from the same university, which they earned from 2006 to 2008. In 2017, they attended the Harvard Kennedy School, although the degree and field of study are unspecified. Additionally, they received a high school diploma from Middletown High School in 1987.
