Hafiz Hamid

Hafiz Hamid is the CEO and Founder of CrawlNow. Hafiz was previously the Sr. Software Engineering Manager at Lyft, where they delivered the company's realtime big data platform. Hafiz has also worked as the Principal Member of Technical Staff, Software Engineering at salesforce.com, and as a Senior SDE at Microsoft. Some of their most notable projects include the development of algorithms and frameworks for mining related URLs and relevancy signals from search results click logs, the creation of data processing pipelines built on top of distributed storage and computing architecture, and the development of a text classification platform to categorize 100’s of millions of local businesses around the globe into over a thousand categories like restaurants, hotels, cinemas etc.

Hafiz Hamid completed a Master of Science in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Washington. Hafiz also attended Startup School at Y Combinator. Hafiz Hamid holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences. Hafiz also has a certification from Teradata in Teradata Certified Master V2R5.
