Lillian Smestad

Lillian Smestad is a Senior Data Scientist at Inmeta, an award-winning AI and Machine Learning consultancy based in Norway, since August 2018. In addition to this role, Lillian serves as a Board Member of Sustainability at Inmeta and co-founded Oslo AI, a non-profit organization promoting AI communities. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Research Fellow position at the Research Council of Norway, focusing on the Antihydrogen Experiment at CERN, and participation in the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN, where Lillian developed monitoring tools and contributed to the discovery of the Higgs boson candidate. Lillian also has a strong academic background, holding a Ph.D. in Elementary Particle Physics from the University of Oslo, complemented by extensive teaching assistant roles and earlier work in graphic design and retail.
