Alex Xingbang Weng

Alex Xingbang Weng is a seasoned data scientist with extensive experience in economics and artificial intelligence. Currently serving as a Senior Data Scientist at ByteDance since September 2025, Weng previously held the position of Economist/Scientist II at Keystone AI from August 2024 to July 2025. Prior experience includes an Economist Intern role at Amazon in mid-2022 and a Research Assistant position at the International Monetary Fund from January 2018 to August 2019. Weng began the career path with research internships at the American Enterprise Institute in late 2017. Academic credentials include a PhD in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, completed in 2024, a Master’s degree in Applied Economics from Georgetown University, and a Bachelor’s degree in International Economics from Sichuan University.
