Richard Fawthrop

Richard Fawthrop is an experienced Laboratory Manager currently at CREATE Fertility since March 2022. Previously served as a Clinical Embryologist at Belfast NHS Trust from March 2018 to April 2022 and held the position of Deputy Laboratory Manager/Senior Clinical Embryologist at The Fertility Partnership from January 2017 to February 2018. Richard has extensive experience in embryology, having worked as a Consultant Locum Embryologist for a brief period in 2016, and as Principal Clinical Embryologist at Sims IVF from October 2012 to December 2015. Richard also managed embryology and estates at Origin Fertility and acted as Laboratory Director at Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. From July 2007 to June 2010, Richard was a Senior Clinical Embryologist/Co-Deputy Laboratory Manager at CARE Fertility and held similar titles at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, along with a role as Laboratory Director at Northamptonshire Fertility Services. Richard Fawthrop holds a Master’s Degree in Clinical Embryology from the University of Leeds and additional qualifications in counselling and biological sciences.
