Ya Pei

Senior Scientist at Creative-Biolabs

Ya Pei has a diverse work experience in the scientific field. Ya began their career in 2013 as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Texas A&M University, where they conducted research on the Adenosine 2A Receptor and its role in diet-induced inflammation and metabolic disease. Ya also published a paper in the Gastroenterology journal with an impact factor of 20. In 2018, Ya Pei worked as a Postdoc Researcher at both the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. At the former, they conducted drosophila RNAi screening for pathway analysis and identified biomarkers, as well as finished at least 50 gene cloning for drosophila embryo injection and established animals carrying two transgenes. At the latter, they investigated cellular and molecular mechanisms of polyphenol supplement as they related to fat burn process and signal transduction pathways relevant in metabolic diseases induced by obesity. Currently, Ya Pei is employed as a Senior Scientist at Creative Biolabs, where they review latest publications to formulate ideas to meet requests from clients from universities, biotech companies, etc. Ya also builds discussion around customer needs and opportunities relating to gene editing, viral vector, RNAi, nanoparticles, oncolytic virus, mRNA vaccines and cell therapies, and interacts and works on a daily basis with a team of scientists on performing viral production and titration, ddPCR, HPLC, ELISA, FACS assays and mammalian cell culture.

Ya Pei attended Tianjin University of Science and Technology from 2006 to 2010, where they earned a Bachelor's degree in Food Science and Engineering. From 2010 to 2013, they attended the same university and obtained a Master's degree in Food Engineering. Finally, from 2013 to 2017, Ya Pei attended Texas A&M University and received a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Nutrition Sciences.
