Marissa Perel is an accomplished artist and curator with extensive experience in performance and contemporary art. Currently serving as the Artist Services Assistant at Creative Capital since July 2014, Marissa has previously held significant roles including Researcher at The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage, where vital information on fine art and performing arts was provided under the direction of Kristy Edmunds. Notable contributions include curatorial positions at Vox Populi gallery, where Marissa launched the COUNTER/ACTS performance series, and as Lobby TALKS curator at New York Live Arts, fostering discussions among key figures in contemporary performance. As the founder and columnist for Art21's "Gimme Shelter," Marissa explored various aspects of performance through essays and interviews. Educational credentials include an M.F.A. from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a B.A. from Naropa University.
