Jean-Francois Balay

Deputy General Manager, Crédit Agricole CIB at Credit Agricole Group

Jean-François Balaÿ has been Deputy General Manager of Crédit Agricole CIB since July 2018.

He began his career in corporate markets at Crédit Lyonnais in 1989, and went on to hold a number of managerial posts in London, Paris and in Asia. In 2001 he joined Crédit Lyonnais’ Loan Syndication business line, first as Head of Origination for Europe and then for Western Europe at Calyon in 2004. In 2006 he was appointed Deputy to the Head of Loan Syndication for EMEA and in April 2009 became Global Head of Loan Syndication at Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.

In 2012, Jean-François Balaÿ was appointed Head of the Debt Optimisation and Distribution Department.

In April 2016, Jean-François Balaÿ became Head of Risk Management and Permanent Controls.

Since july 2018, Jean-François Balaÿ supervise Structured Finance, Debt Optimisation and Distribution, Distressed Assets, International Trade & Transaction Banking.

Jean-François Balaÿ has a Masters degree in Economics and Management as well as a postgraduate diploma in Banking and Finance from Lumière Lyon II University.
