Serhii Balbieko has worked in various roles in the tech industry since 2011. Serhii began their career as a Systems Administrator at .RealEstate Inc. and a Systems Administrator and Software Developer at Koding.com. In 2011, they also worked as an Infrastructure Engineering Developer at Atalanta Systems Ltd, where they used Ruby, Python, AWS, Linux, OpenIndiana, and Opscode Chef. In 2012, they became a Site Reliability Engineer at NowThis News, where they implemented DevOps and ChatOps approaches and built scalable infrastructure for delivering Django web applications. In 2014, they took on the role of DevOps Engineer at Verizon Hearst Media Partners, where they developed the entire CI/CD pipeline for company products. In 2017, they became a Senior Site Reliability Engineer at The Hill, where they migrated the entire application stack from bare-metal servers to the AWS cloud platform. Serhii also worked as a Senior DevOps Engineer at Waverley Software from 2019 to 2020, and as a Site Reliability Engineering Lead and Senior Software Engineer at NinjaHoldings from 2020 to present. Additionally, they have been a Freelancer on Upwork since 2009.
