Baijayanta Mukhopadhyay

Baijayanta Mukhopadhyay is a seasoned medical professional with extensive experience in family medicine, social accountability, and community engagement. Currently the Director of the Office of Social Accountability and Community Engagement at McGill Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Baijayanta also serves as Site Co-coordinator in the Department of Family Medicine at McGill University, focusing on training medical students and residents in low-resource and Indigenous contexts. As a Family Practice Physician for the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay, Baijayanta provides comprehensive health services to remote Indigenous communities. Previous roles include Hospital Physician Coordinator for Doctors Without Borders and Family Medicine Resident at Timmins and District Hospital. Baijayanta’s educational background includes an MD and MA from McGill University, a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Hygiene from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a BA from Cornell University.
