Mardell A. Wilson is currently the Provost at Creighton University. Prior to that, they served as the Dean of the Doisy College of Health Sciences at Saint Louis University from August 2014 to October 2020. The Doisy College of Health Sciences includes 6 academic departments with 20 degree programs representing nearly 1800 students and over 110 faculty and staff. The college’s programs exemplify SLU’s tradition of excellence in health care education, Capitalizing on modern innovations and methods. U.S. News & World Report ranks several of the programs offered in the Doisy College of Health Sciences, with the physician assistant program being ranked among the nation’s top 27, the physical therapy program among the top 34, and the occupational therapy program among the top 36. The college maintains 13 external accreditations from 11 agencies for its various programs. Many of the college’s faculty continue to refine their skills as practitioners while at the same time serving as gifted teachers and accomplished scholars. Partnerships with more than 1,000 clinical sites nationwide allow DCHS students diversified field experiences that are an essential aspect to nearly all of the programs offered in the college. Committed to all aspects of the scholarly process, The Doisy College of Health Sciences has an impressive history of supporting both graduate and undergraduate research opportunities. The college receives research support from the National Institutes of Health, the state of Missouri and the Missouri Foundation for Health, as well as multiple private foundations. The college boasts modern labs, including a movement science research lab for assessing motion analysis; a culinary lab for teaching food service and preparation; a clinical diagnostic laboratory to teach blood and body fluid analysis; and a media lab for teaching students how to assist clients in daily activities that support their quality of life. Contemporary classrooms are equipped to provide an interactive educational experience.

Mardell A. Wilson has a Doctor of Education (EdD) from Illinois State University in Curriculum and Instruction, a Master of Science (MS) from Eastern Illinois University in Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences, and a Bachelor of Science (BS) from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in Human Resources and Family Studies - Dietetics.
