Abel Varghese

Abel Varghese has a strong work experience in various positions. Abel currently holds the role of Senior Data Scientist at Crescent Bank since June 2023. Prior to that, from August 2021 to May 2023, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Texas McCombs School of Business. Abel also worked as a Data Science Student Consultant at the Computational Media Lab at UT Austin from May 2022 to July 2022. Before pursuing data science, Abel gained experience as a Supply Chain Analyst at Maruti Suzuki India Limited from July 2018 to March 2021. In this role, they built a de-risking dashboard and conducted inventory analysis to optimize stock utilization. Abel's earlier experience includes roles as a Technical Lead and Brakes Team Lead at PSI Racing Team from August 2016 to March 2018, where they designed and fabricated the brakes subsystem for an Off-Road Buggy.

Abel Varghese has a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Production Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli. Abel attended this institution from 2014 to 2018.

Currently, Abel is pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin, starting in 2021 and expected to finish in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Abel has obtained several certifications. Abel completed "Python for Data Science and Machine Learning Bootcamp," "Recommender Systems and Deep Learning in Python," and "The Complete SQL Bootcamp" from Udemy. Abel obtained the SQL Bootcamp certification in June 2022, while the other two certifications were obtained in March 2023.
