Alison Riger

Alison Riger has a strong background in human resources and hospitality. Alison began their career in 1996 as a Front Desk Guest Representative at Marriott International and returned every summer during college. Alison then worked at The Polo Fields Golf & Country Club as a Catering/Kitchen Intern and Restaurant Hostess. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University, Alison joined Marriott International again as part of their Management Development Program. Alison then held roles as a Front Desk Assistant Manager and Guest Services Manager at different Marriott properties. Alison later joined University of Michigan as a Hotel Supervisor and Eastern Michigan University as an Adjunct Instructor. Alison went on to work as a Hotel Manager and Assistant General Manager at Alliance Hospitality Management LLC, and as a Human Resources Manager at Digital 10 Media. Alison then served as the Human Resources and Training Director at Pogoda Companies. Alison'smost recent role was with Crescent Hotels & Resorts, where they held positions such as Human Resources Director, Complex Human Resources Director, Area Director of Human Resources, and Corporate Director of People & Culture. Alison's responsibilities in these roles included recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, HR/legal compliance, coaching and counseling, compensation and benefits, policy and procedure development, and union negotiation experience.

Alison Riger completed their high school education at West Geauga High School from 1992 to 1996. Alison then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management at Eastern Michigan University from 1996 to 2000.

In addition to their formal education, Alison Riger has obtained certifications in the field. In August 2007, they became a Certified Hospitality Educator through the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Lodging Association. Later, in November 2010, they obtained the SHRM Essentials of HR Management certification from the SHRM/Eastern Michigan University-Livonia Center.
