Andrea LaPlante, PsyD

Andrea LaPlante is a psychologist with extensive experience in clinical services, particularly within HIV care. Since July 2018, Andrea has been serving as a psychologist at CrescentCare, providing psychotherapy, neuropsychological assessments, crisis intervention, and memory support services. Prior to this role, Andrea worked as an assistant professor at LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans from July 2016 to June 2018, where responsibilities included clinical activities at the University Medical Center's HIV Outpatient Program. Andrea also gained valuable experience as a psychology fellow at LSU Health Sciences Center from July 2012 to June 2016, focusing on research related to neurocognitive impairment and mental health issues among individuals living with HIV/AIDS. Additional training includes internships and externships in various settings, including inpatient and outpatient mental health services. Andrea earned a Doctor of Psychology in Clinical Psychology from the University of La Verne and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside.
