Giorgia Zaetta has a diverse work experience that spans across different companies and roles. Giorgia is currently working at Cresset software and discovery as a Scientist, Discovery, where they are involved in various drug discovery projects for confidential and international clients. Giorgia is proficient in using the Cresset Software suite, including Flare and Spark, for ligand-based and structure-based drug design.
Before their current role, Giorgia worked at Pharmacelera as a BD Manager, where they led technical presentations of the Pharmacelera software package to potential clients and managed scientific collaborations with drug discovery institutions. Giorgia also worked as a Research Scientist at Pharmacelera, where they were responsible for designing compounds with improved SAR and better properties for different drug discovery stages.
Prior to Pharmacelera, Giorgia was a Senior Scientist at Charles River Laboratories, where they synthesized compounds and performed chemical modifications for lead optimization. Giorgia also conducted ADME assays and used various instruments for data analysis.
Giorgia has also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, where they focused on the design, synthesis, and SAR of potential drugs for cystic fibrosis treatment. Giorgia has experience in independently carrying out research projects.
Additionally, Giorgia has a background in academia, including a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry from Università degli Studi di Bari and research scholar experience at Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard. Giorgia has also served as a member of the Academic Senate at University of Bari.
In their early career, Giorgia worked as a sailing instructor and pharmacist, showcasing their coaching skills and pharmaceutical knowledge. Giorgia has also represented Italy in the 2007 Sailing World Cup as an athlete in the Class 420 category.
Giorgia Zaetta completed their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from the University of Bari - School of Medicinal Chemistry. Giorgia attended this program from 2012 to 2015. Prior to their PhD, they earned a Master of Pharmacy degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Bari, which they completed from 2005 to 2010.
In addition to their degrees, Giorgia Zaetta obtained a qualification to practice as an authorized pharmacist from the Italian Department of University and Research in February 2011. Giorgia also obtained an International Computer Driving License from the ECDL Foundation in June 2007.
