Sílvia Illa Tuset, PhD

Sílvia Illa Tuset, PhD, has extensive experience in computational chemistry and materials science. Sílvia is currently working as a Discovery Scientist at Cresset software and discovery since 2022. Prior to this, they worked as a Computational Chemist Consultant and Project Manager as a Freelancer, conducting a study on the interaction of the spike protein of the SARS-COV-2 virus with ambient particles using Molecular Dynamics simulations.

Sílvia also worked as a Research Scientist at Pharmacelera, where they specialized in small molecule and protein docking, structure-based design, and virtual screening. Sílvia worked on various projects and gained a deep understanding of protein-ligand interactions.

Previously, Sílvia was a Computational Chemistry Scientist at Procter & Gamble, where they developed atomistic models of interactions between surfactants and complex biological systems. Sílvia combined simulation work with experimental data to explain macro-scale phenomena.

Following this, they enrolled at Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Material Science from 2015 to 2019.
