Jenny Kao

Senior Researcher at CRESST

Jenny Kao has extensive experience in the field of education research and assessment. Jenny is currently working at ELPA21 as a Research Project Manager since May 2020. Prior to this, they worked at CRESST National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing as a Senior Researcher starting from 2016.

From 2011 to 2016, Jenny worked as an Independent Consultant, where they advised and consulted on various education and assessment research projects. During this time, they also developed instruments, conducted data analyses, and wrote scholarly reports.

Jenny's career in research began at Teachers College, Columbia University, where they worked as a Research Assistant from 2010 to 2015. Additionally, they served as a Teaching Assistant from September 2012 to May 2013. Prior to joining Teachers College, they gained research experience as a Research Associate at CRESST, UCLA from 2002 to 2011.

Jenny Kao has a diverse educational background. Jenny holds a PhD in Cognitive Studies in Education and Human Development from Teachers College, Columbia University. Jenny also obtained a Master's degree in Educational Psychology from UCLA, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and English, also from UCLA.
