Vanessa Thornton

Vanessa Thornton is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in software engineering and leadership roles. Currently serving as a Technical Lead at LawVu since January 2025 and a Brand Representative at Cricut since August 2023, Vanessa previously held the position of Chief Technology Officer at Empathix and contributed significantly to Xero in various capacities including Lead Software Engineer and Development Team Lead from April 2016 to January 2024. Earlier in career, Vanessa worked as a Software Developer at Kiwibank. Vanessa holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Information Systems from Victoria University of Wellington and has earned certificates in Small Business and Project Management from Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
