Freddy Schoetens

Freddy Schoetens currently serves as Senior Director of Toxicology at Crinetics Pharmaceuticals since December 2023, after a long tenure at Johnson & Johnson starting in 2006, where responsibilities included leading nonclinical safety assessments across various therapeutic areas. Prior to this, Freddy worked at Janssen Pharmaceutica in Belgium from 2001 to 2006, where duties involved conducting preclinical safety and toxicity studies. Freddy also has a background in veterinary medicine, having co-owned a mixed animal practice in the Netherlands from 1991 to 2001 and served in the Belgian Armed Forces as a Medical Services officer from 1989 to 1991. Education was completed at Ghent University in Belgium with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicines degree.
