Zak Murad is the Chief Technology and Information Officer of CRISIL Limited.

Zak drives the company’s global technology roadmap, product development, technology infrastructure, and alliances. He leads the implementation of micro-services, cloud, and digitally-led technology models in addition to focusing on digitalisation of content and enhancing CRISIL’s automation journey by harnessing machine learning and natural language processing.

As a champion of innovation, he spearheads initiatives in risk management solutions, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud to help CRISIL clients accelerate their digital transformations, thereby delivering enhanced value to the business.

Before joining CRISIL, Zak was the Global Head of IT Infrastructure and Operations at S&P Global Ratings, where he led efforts to work towards common capabilities for product development across the Market Intelligence, Ratings, and Platts divisions of S&P Global.

He has previously worked with BNYMellon where he led data platforms, distributed compute/cloud, and information life cycle management services. In a career spanning over 30 years, he has also managed several large technology projects at well-known financial institutions such as Barclays, Goldman Sachs, and Lehman Brothers.

Zak is a thought leader and has been on the chair and panel of several prestigious technology events across the globe. He holds a degree from Rutgers University.
