Norm Bettencourt is an experienced instructor in security, first aid, and self-defense, currently serving as an AST instructor at Advanced Security Training JIBC, a CPI instructor at Crisis Prevention Institute, and a PVPC instructor for the Provincial Violence Prevention Curriculum, all since September 2017. Additionally, Norm has been instructing for the Canadian Red Cross since October 2013, focusing on emergency and standard first aid skills. Norm has taught basic security training since 2007 across various companies, emphasizing professionalism and personal safety. As the owner and head instructor at Tactical Self Defense since January 2006, Norm specializes in self-defense and urban survival skills for civilians, security professionals, and law enforcement. Previous experience includes a role as an Occupational First Aid Instructor with WorkSafeBC in early 2018. Norm's educational background includes extensive training from Maluco Tactical, Justice Institute of British Columbia, Lakehead University, and the All Japan Karate Federation, spanning from 1990 to the present.
