Alex King

Alex King has extensive experience in crisis counseling and political organizing, currently serving as a Volunteer Crisis Counselor for Crisis Text Line since April 2017. Alex's training includes a comprehensive six-week program focusing on critical issues such as self-harm and suicide, backed by prominent organizations. As a candidate for the Livonia City Council in 2025, Alex garnered 4,039 votes, finishing 11th among 17 candidates. Previous roles include Regional Organizing Director at For Our Future, where management of a canvassing team was key to voter outreach in swing districts. Additional experience spans positions as an Assistant Canvass Director for Detroit Public TV, Senior Field Organizer, and Climate Action Organizer, complemented by Lyft and Uber partner driving. Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Xavier University and engages in ongoing professional development in nonprofit management and resource development.
