Joe Royer is the Vice President of R&D and Product Development at ClockSpring. Joe has over 17 years of experience in coordinating research and development efforts across multiple business units and organizations. Prior to joining ClockSpring, Joe was the Development Manager at Milliken Infrastructure Solutions, LLC where they were responsible for R&D, engineering, product development, and pre and post-sales technical support for a start-up business unit manufacturing geopolymer mortar systems, Concrete Cloth, and composite wrap solutions.
Joe started their career as a postdoctoral researcher at NC State University before joining Milliken & Company as the Director of Innovation for the Performance Products Division. Joe coordinated R&D efforts across all seven global business units within the division and was responsible for project staffing, technical consulting, IP and patent portfolio management, and technical due diligence for M&A targets. Joe was also a member of the Executive Technology Council. During their tenure at Milliken, the division won three R&D 100 awards.
Joe Royer studied chemical engineering as an undergraduate at the University of Notre Dame. After graduation, they pursued a PhD in chemical engineering at North Carolina State University.
They are on a team with John Hepfinger - President, GeoTree, Andrew Patrick - EVP, Strategic Opportunities, and Cedric Oudinot - President, Composites Division. Joe Royer reports to Frank Firsching, CEO.
