Carl Hiehn

Carl Hiehn has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Carl began their career as an Editorial Intern at Eye Weekly Newspaper in 2008. Carl then worked as a Freelance Writer for blogTO and The Huffington Post Canada, contributing articles to their platforms. In 2012, they transitioned into a managerial role at The Beaver Cafe, where they served as a Manager until February 2015.

Following that, Carl worked as a Manager at Milk The Cow Licensed Fromagerie from November 2015 to September 2016. Carl then joined Outward Bound Canada as a Digital Content Marketing Intern, where they developed content for their travel blog and maintained tour listings. In 2017, they joined OUT Adventures as a Digital Marketing Coordinator, executing marketing initiatives and increasing the company's online presence through social media.

In 2018, Carl worked as a Writer for Intrepid Travel, and later that year, they joined OUT Adventures as a Digital Marketing Specialist. In this role, they built the company's marketing initiatives, conducted market research, and expanded digital content into new mediums.

In 2020, Carl joined Pedestal Search as an Account Strategist, where they contributed to client strategy and account management. Carl was later promoted to Senior Account Strategist and subsequently became the Head of Client Strategy.

Currently, Carl is working at Critical Mass as a Search Lead, a role they assumed in June 2022.

In 2017, they attended the University of Toronto and received a Certificate in Marketing/Marketing Management. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2012, they pursued a Diploma in Restaurant, Culinary, and Catering Management/Manager from George Brown College. Carl's earliest education experience was from 2005 to 2009 when they attended York University and earned an HBA degree in Professional, Technical, Business, and Scientific Writing.

Additionally, Carl has obtained two certifications. In June 2022, they completed the HTML Essential Training certification from LinkedIn. Carl also obtained a certification in Introduction to CSS from LinkedIn in June 2022.
