John Schilsky

As CFO for Critical Start, John will work alongside the management team expanding upon the solid foundation and vision that has been established. John will focus on accurate and timely reporting for the key stakeholders, monitor and report on key operational metrics, drive increased scalability and efficiencies and ensure that the team has the financial and operational resources needed to properly execute on the growth plan set by the board.

John has served as a middle-market CFO for over 20 years primarily in PE backed technology and Ed-Tech focused companies. John has also served on the board of two venture backed software companies. His experiences have included both buy-side and sell-side transactions, operational integration, optimization of processes and systems and team building. John is a hands-on leader with a desire to learn all aspects of the business and to be a solid business partner for the entire team.

Most recently, John worked as CFO for a $250m PE backed Ed-Tech service provider. Over the past 4 years, John was a key member of the management team navigating through 2 recap processes and 2 buy-side acquisitions while the company experienced double digit organic growth.

John attended Illinois Wesleyan University and worked for PwC in Chicago after graduation.
