Prashanth Makaram

Prashanth Makaram has had a varied career in the technology industry. Prashanth began their career in 2009 as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at MIT, where they were hired to lead an Office of Naval Research-MURI project. In 2010, they joined AlphaSIP as a Consultant/Director Process Development, where they were brought in as a Nanotechnology expert to carry out technology transfer activities and aid in the development of AlphaSIP's carbon nanotube based medical device for diagnostics. Later in 2010, they became the VP of Technology Development/Co-Founder of Alpha Szenszor Inc., where they were responsible for lean/fabless manufacturing, gas sensor development, business development and strategic partnerships, IP generation and portfolio management, breath-based diagnostics, market research and technology roadmap, and joint venture with Technion on lung cancer diagnostics. In 2014, they founded Makx Labs as an Independent Consultant, and also founded Fabulyzer Sensors Ltd. as the CTO. In 2016, they joined Infineon Technologies as a Staff Engineer - Consumer Sensors. Prashanth then moved to Lofelt in 2018 as a Senior Product Owner, and in 2019, they joined Infineon Technologies once again as a Senior Consultant/External Innovation & Technology Scouting. Prashanth also became a Mentor for INAM - Innovation Network for Advanced Materials in 2019, and in 2020, they became the Founder & CEO of Crocus Labs.

Prashanth Makaram began their educational journey in 1996 at Vanavani Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Prashanth then attended Kendriya Vidyalaya before moving on to Visvesvaraya Technological University, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2002. Prashanth then returned to Northeastern University, where they earned a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering in 2004 and a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering with Specialization in Nanotechnology in 2009. In 2018, Prashanth obtained a Certified Scrum Product Owner certification from the Scrum Alliance.
