Bijit Kumar Bhowmik

Bijit Kumar Bhowmik, PhD has a diverse work experience. Bijit Kumar is currently working as a Lead Applications Scientist at Croda since June 2021. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Elanco, where they focused on developing a novel microbe-based biotherapeutics delivery platform and engineered live-attenuated vaccines for animals. Prior to that, from 2011 to 2019, they worked at the University of Oklahoma as both a Postdoctoral Research Associate and a Graduate Research Assistant. In these roles, they led multiple projects investigating chromosome segregation and cell division in bacteria, optimized permeation of fluorescent probes, screened potential drug molecules, and conducted live-cell imaging techniques. Additionally, they worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, instructing chemistry and biochemistry courses. Before their time at the University of Oklahoma, they worked as a Research Chemist at TCG Lifesciences Pvt Ltd. where they designed and executed strategies for synthesizing small organic molecules.

Bijit Kumar Bhowmik, PhD completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma from 2011 to 2017. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (M.S.) in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma from 2011 to 2014. Bijit Kumar began their educational journey by earning a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Biotechnology from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata from 2004 to 2008.
