J. Clay Backus

J. Clay Backus is an experienced professional in the marine and heavy lift industries, currently serving as the Manager of the Heavy Lift Group at Crofton Industries since May 2016. Prior to this role, J. Clay Backus worked as a Salvage Engineer at Resolve Marine Group, Inc. from June 2008 to May 2016, where responsibilities included emergency response, ship salvage, and hydrographic surveying. J. Clay Backus possesses a Master of Science in Oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Radford University. Additional expertise includes being a USCG Master Captain, marine salvor, diver, and instructor for rescue courses.
